Leadership & Management Development

As one of your most expensive assets, and the group that has the biggest impact on the performance of your team, ensuring your leaders & managers are well equipped to lead and manage at a high level is essential for business growth and success.

In addition to the strategic change & cultural work we do with businesses, we also support a high proportion with some form of leadership and management development.

We work at board and senior leadership level, to deliver work including one-to-one executive coaching; facilitation of challenging discussions; to formal leadership programmes that transition dysfunctional leadership teams, to fully functional, collaborative and effective SLTs.

At management level, we deliver training that ranges from focussed management workshops around things like delegation skills, accountability training, coaching & mentoring and communication skills; to provision and development of bespoke 12 month management programmes.

Outside of this, we also work with various clients on “future leaders” or “elevation” programmes to develop high performers and key talent who may be ready for a promotion into a management position in the next 12-18 months.

Below are just some of the challenges that our clients experienced, driving them to invest in leadership & management development with us:
  • They had a history of promoting people who are good at their job, only to find they can’t manage people.
  • They had a leadership or management team that lacked accountability, and the owner or Managing Director, was having to constantly jump in and drive things forward.
  • Their senior management team was dysfunctional with a lack of trust and ability to communicate with each other effectively.
  • They had challenges with employee engagement and performance and found that middle management and team leads didn’t have the skills needed to engage and develop their team.
  • They had turnover in key people, who cited a lack of development opportunities as their reason for leaving.
  • There was a lack of consistency in management across the organisation, which caused inconsistency in business performance.

Women's Leadership Programme

Women can often face unique challenges in leadership positions, and still occupy only 7% of CEO positions in the Fortune 500. Research shows however, that companies with a proportion of female leadership and more diversity at board level, enjoy significantly better financial performance & higher levels of growth.

With gender diversity at a leadership level an ongoing challenge, and many companies struggling to provide the right development for their female leaders, we designed a bespoke women’s leadership programme. This is aimed at both growing the number of women in influential leadership positions, whilst also providing a unique environment for female leaders and managers, who are looking to elevate their leadership impact and unlock higher levels of growth for themselves and their businesses.

If you’re a business looking for a dedicated women’s leadership programme to support diversity and growth of your female talent, this programme has been proven to increase engagement, contribution and growth of female leaders.

If you’re a female leader looking to undergo self development, this programme will support you in elevating your leadership impact and help facilitate a successful transition to the next phase in your career.

There are a variety of ways to work with us – through our online programme, with optional additional 1-2-1 support; by attending one of our 6 month face to face cohorts; or for larger businesses, we design bespoke female leadership programmes specifically tailored to individual objectives.

“Every session has been extremely eye opening, I have learnt so much about myself, my team and my management style and have a much deeper understanding of how to adapt my approach to different situations and people to influence in the best possible way. The management training with Duo has completely elevated my management impact.”

  • Robert Shaw

“The future leaders training that Duo has done with us has had so many positive takeaways. The training really framed and put into perspective a lot of the situations I run into day to day with my team, and gave practical insight into what to do to drive success. It has been invaluable in allowing me to tailor my approach to team behaviours in order to get the best out of people.”

  • Kari Owers

“One of the most impactful parts of the training was the psychological and behavioural exercises, Sarah & Laura really know their stuff and by understanding how and why we behave the way we do, it is possible for us all to find ways to adapt and move forward in our lives, both personally and professionally. We explored everything from limiting beliefs to imposter syndrome to the stories we tell ourselves, and the structure of the course made for a fast paced journey for everyone.”

  • Gayatri Wood

“I really enjoyed the balance of working in pairs and as a larger group on the women’s programme, with opportunities to both share my experiences and also listen to others. I learnt so much about the behavioural patterns I fall into when I’m stressed and overwhelmed. Seeing how this impacts me and affects my relationships & how I influence and manage others is invaluable and the need to learn to reframe my storytelling. I would love a longer and more in depth follow up to the workshop to delve deeper into the behavioural patterns.”

  • Katy Lamb

“The workshop had a really good mix of lecture style and group/individual work. For me, the science behind the behaviour types was really interesting and there were a few lightbulb moments relating them back to the people in my life as well as those I work with. Being with like minded women allowed me to appreciate that lots of people go through the same moments of uncertainty and self doubt in their careers. The environment created by the team nurtured a lovely sense of camaraderie and support throughout. Going back to work after maternity leave, it was what I needed to push me back in the right direction and elevate my impact as a female leader.”

  • Jim Mawdsley

“Extremely insightful session that made you really look at yourself and be able to understand others in your team. Both Sarah and Laura were extremely engaging and made you feel completely at ease when you needed to be honest about yourself.”

  • David Armstrong

“Warm and friendly welcome with a confidently delivered session, what an eye opener into how to identify different types of mindsets and how to approach them with the view to helping them and the business. I learned as much about myself and how managing my own mindset when managing my team. All delivered in easy speak, open and fun. I approach every day conversations with the tools I acquired on the day, only positive things to say, looking forward to the next training.”
